12th Bacolaodiat Festival Highlights Chinese New year Celeb
The yearly celebration of the Chinese New Year falls on January 29, Sunday. This will be given impetus in Bacolod City with the celebration of the 12th Bacolaodiat Festival on January 27, 28 and 29, according to Jennifer Gochangco-Ong, festival chairman. This is capped with a grand parade on January 29 from the Bacolod public plaza to the North Capitol Road.
There are three venues for this year’s Bacolaodiate festival: the North Capitol Road, Yuan Temple at Burgos Extension, and at the Bacolod City Government Center.
This is Bacolod's very own Chinese New year Festival--Bacolaodiat! It comes from the words "Bacolod" & "Lao Diat" (Fookien word for celebration).
